I arrived in the UK Tuesday to cover a month of women's soccer this side of the Atlantic. Here's my meandering catalog of Mancunian nostalgia, an ode to jet lag & Opening Day at Old Trafford
Owen Jones must have been fascinating to have shared a politics class with. I wonder if he was the same character/personality he is now, or if he evolved into his current role. Anyway, thank you for reading
He was more radical back then compared to present day but not by much. I went to the university of Manchester to do modern history and politics BA. My specialist area for my later masters thesis was football and working class masculinity in post war Lancashire as reflected by the 1953 FA cup final press coverage.
Welcome back to Manchester
Owen Jones went to six form college near Stockport in fact I was in his politics class for A levels (last two years of high school )
Thanks Richard. (And apologies for the delayed response!)
