Three wins. Nine points. Nine goals scored. Two goals allowed— and plenty left to work on. 

But the US Women’s National Team has concluded the 2024 Olympic group stage in first place of Group B after beating Australia 2-1 tonight. They’ll head to Paris now for the quarter-final, where they face Japan this Saturday equipped with a renewed confidence that’s still sober about the task ahead of them. 

Inimitable veteran left-back Crystal Dunn, minutes after the final whistle at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille:

“I think the team is feeling good. I think we've had three great performances. Obviously, there's always things that we look at that we're like, alright, this could be better. But overall, I'm proud of the group. I think we really came together. We really used each game to grow and add different layers to our game. But everyone knows, it's now knockout rounds. It's almost like a completely different tournament. And that's where our focus is now. We're happy we got the job done tonight. But it's now about turning the page and focusing on our next opponent.”
