This wasn’t your grandmother’s Brazil, but tonight’s 1-1 draw in Orlando was a US performance we can feel decent about as we turn toward Copa América. 

Deservedly, pressure on Gregg Berhalter reached more pervasive heights in the days after a historic 5-1 loss to Colombia. It should remain there as we kick off the tournament in earnest. 

But alongside that Gregg-focused ire, came a new type of pressure on this talented group of players, who for whatever reason, rolled out in Landover, Maryland to play Colombia looking half asleep. 

Tonight, they played with an intensity that seemed to prove, if nothing else, that they care.
