A new landscape
Tuesday evening at 10 PM ET (4 PM the day following in Wellington) the US Women played their first match in a World Cup year. The scoreline reads 0-4 in the Americans’ favor, but the performance asks as many questions as we had ahead of it.
We’re left with no certainty- or perhaps even suspicion- that this might be the “three-peat” year.
They played in New Zealand (where they’ll play the majority of their World Cup matches) acclimating to travel between Auckland and Wellington, playing in the stadiums where they’ll meet opponents of their group.
